Our Story
We got tired of
ordinary weekends.
So we built the thing we wished existed.
The Experience Basics started with a simple frustration: every weekend was either the same thing, or a generic packaged tour that felt like a conveyor belt.
We'd read enough research to know that experiences make people happier than things — not just in the moment, but permanently. The memories compound. The stories get better every time you tell them. The people you meet on an adventure stay in your life in a way that a new phone never will.
So we built a company around one idea: “What would happen if every weekend could be a story worth telling?”
We design experiences that are intentional, curated, and small enough to be real. No bus tours. No itineraries packed with shopping. Just the things that actually matter — people, places, food, and the feeling of being genuinely alive.
That's The Experience Basics.

What guides us
Our commitments to you.
Intentional Design
Nothing we run is off-the-shelf. Every experience is designed from scratch, tested, and refined before we take your money.
Small Groups, Real Connections
We cap every experience at a small group size — because the best thing about travel is the people you meet, and you can't meet them in a crowd of 50.
Local First
We source locally, eat locally, stay locally. The best experiences are the ones that actually belong to the place you're visiting.
No Filler, No Fluff
We don't pad itineraries with shopping stops and souvenir markets. Every hour of your experience is earned.
